How to Check Voter ID Card Application Status Online

All prospective users can check the voter ID card application status via online, call service or by simply sending an SMS.

Checking voter ID application status online:

Checking the status of your voter ID application is a straightforward process and does not take much time and effort. The status can be tracked by visiting the National Voter Service Portal (NVSP), the official website of EC's enrolment data wing. One must keep the reference number of the voter ID handy that was issued earlier.

Follow these simple steps to check the status of a voter ID application online:

Step 1: To check the status of your application, visit the NVSP website. You can visit the portal by clicking this link i.e.https://www.nvsp.in/

Step 2: After going to the NVSP portal, click on the 'Application status' link.

Step 3: Now, enter the reference ID and click on 'Track Application status'. Your application status will appear on the screen. If the status of your application is under processing, then it can be tracked again.

Checking voter ID application status via call:

Voters can also track the status of their voter ID application status using the call facility. Just dial the toll-free number 1950 and follow the instructions to know the status of the application. The toll-free number is provided by EC.

Checking voter ID application status via SMS:

In most cases, the ECI sends an SMS alert to the registered number after you successfully register for a voter ID card. The SMS facility tells about the acceptance or rejection of the voter ID application request. However, this facility is available only in a few states.

Guide for first time voters:

If you are a first-time voter or your name was not listed in the usual poll booth, then first check for your name on the voter list. If your name is present, then you can track your voter ID application status. And if it is not there, first you need to apply for a new voter ID in India. It is to be noted that a Booth Level Officer (BLO) is appointed for field verification after an application is received. The application is then accepted or rejected as per the merits of the case.
